In the Basic Engineering phase of an energy project, we use Teräs-Pertti as a high-level abstract model of the structural system, of which BIM-models (Autodesk Advance Steel) can be automatically generated for visualization and detailing purposes. Main structural members are edited as parametric members of the abstract model, whereas secondary platform beams and several other detail level members are generated fully automatically by Teräs-Pertti algorithms.
FE-models (Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis) for each design iteration are exported from Teräs-Pertti with all necessary details (geometry, loads, member releases, analysis parameters etc.). Structural verification, generation of analysis reports as well as revision control of the analysis reports can be fully automated using Raportti-Kalle.
We are currently working on some effective pre-optimization algorithms and automatic documentation tools to be able to adjust to changes and to serve our clients even better. More news coming later in 2019!
